Morning!!

Of course. Attached is the guide that was developed for this purpose.

Here is an engagement protocol we developed that complements the guide: https://www.purdue.edu/engagement/our-story/engagement-protocol/

Here is Purdue's official P&T policy (scroll down for engagement): https://www.purdue.edu/academics/faculty-affairs/promotion/criteria-tenure.html

Here is a link to another article that just came out: https://jprm.scholasticahq.com/article/153977-rewarding-faculty-publicly-engaged-scholarship-in-promotion-and-tenure-policies-at-carnegie-classified-community-engagement-institutions-a-descriptiv

What we learned is to first define what community engagement is, what are its outcomes, and what are its onramps. To get all ten community colleges somewhat on the same page, we developed the framework and protocol and launched the engaged college program. The ECP allowed each college to operationalize the protocol within their own cultures but more importantly, increase awareness and define what community engagement is and what it is not.

Dear colleagues,

We are working on developing model language for in the Office of Academic Affairs for evaluating engaged scholarship in the promotion and tenure process.

We are looking to develop evaluation criteria and measures/evidence of success for engaged scholars.

I am reaching out to see if you could share any model language, criteria, or success metrics that you would recommend or that is used at your institution.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Thanks again and take care.
