Hello all!
I’ve received a couple questions about the listserv, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to test the system by sending an email clarifying a couple points:
- Kathryn from University of Minnesota asked if the listserv was intended to be used by those colleagues engaging in immigration advising, which was something
we hadn’t previously considered (although we probably should have)! After an informal poll of my co-workers on the immigration side, we’ve agreed that it would be best to use this platform as a way to communicate about
all aspects of international student and scholar support, including immigration advising, since so many of us wear multiple hats at our respective institutions and have a hand in different facets of the international student experience.
- Asenath from Rutgers noticed that the message inviting you to join the listserv mentioned that it was to be used by those engaged “in the field of
international student support at BTAA member institutions” – I failed to include scholars in that message, so it’s been updated to say “... in the field of international student
and scholar support at BTAA member institutions.” I hope that those whose duties are to support scholars also utilize the listserv to their advantage!
I’m excited about the possibilities for collaboration and hope to see many more messages soon!
