Hi all, I visited with our leadership team and we wanted to shift a bit of our approach to planning socials for this upcoming year. If you would be interested in serving on a social committee with a few other people to plan the social events for the academic year for our student success team, we invite you to nominate yourself. There will be a small budget to work with (approximately $600-$700) for the year. There are a few regular social events we want to keep, including:
* End of the semester lunch (December and May) * Secret Santa (December)
Beyond that, we have some flexibility with how you all would want to plan a social calendar for the year.
For reference, here is the calendar of events from this past year. Date Time Event/Activity Friday, Aug 30 8:00am-9:00am Coffee and breakfast items (donuts, yogurt provided by college) Thursday, Sept 26 5:00-pm- end of game Tailgate and social for Husker Soccer Game (5:00pm start) (College provides pizza; bring own beverages; cost of tickets to game is $5 each)- people bought own admission if interested in going. Tues, Oct 22 4:00pm-whenever Happy Hour Mon, Nov 25 11:30am-1:00pm Bring-Your-Own-Lunch Friday, Dec 13 8:30-10 End-of-year Celebration - Secret Santa, breakfast Monday, Dec 16 4:00pm-whenever Happy Hour Friday, Jan 17 8:00am-9:00am Coffee and breakfast items (pastries and coffee provided by college) June and Pat Dussault were invited to join us. Friday, Feb 14 11:30am-1:00pm Bring your Own Lunch and College provided cookies and toppings to decorate cookies with Thursday, Mar 20 (Spring Break) 9:00am-11:00am Group Visit to Morrill Hall with Planetarium show Wednesday, April 9th 4:0pm- whenever End of Priority Registration Happy Hour Thursday, May 15th 11:30am-1:00pm End of Semester Lunch Social
If you are interested in serving on this ad hoc committee, let me know. I'm envisioning likely 3-4 people on the group and hopefully a mix of roles from the team.
Thanks.
