Hi Claire,
On behalf of the entire Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute team, I wanted to extend a sincere thank you for your team’s outstanding work in providing the design, A/V and signage support for our recent Water for Food Global Conference.
Despite the PowerPoint and speaker challenges we all had to deal with, everything ran incredibly well. We received numerous compliments from our attendees on the helpfulness of your staff, the visual details and quality of the A/V, which is a direct reflection of your team's dedication and skill.
Thank you again for your hard work and commitment. We were so impressed with your services and would not hesitate to recommend you for future events.
As a side note, our session leaders mentioned she had asked the Sonburst tech team if they would be able to record the lunch session on Tuesday, April 29 in Breakout A, but I’m not seeing it in our files<On%20behalf%20of%20the%20entire%20%5bYour%20Organization%20Name%5d%20team,%20I%20wanted%20to%20extend%20a%20sincere%20thank%20you%20for%20your%20outstanding%20work%20in%20providing%20the%20audio-visual%20support%20for%20our%20recent%20%5bConference%20Name%5d%20conference.%20%20Your%20expertise%20and%20professionalism%20were%20truly%20invaluable%20in%20ensuring%20the%20smooth%20and%20successful%20execution%20of%20our%20event.%20From%20the%20initial%20setup%20to%20the%20seamless%20transitions%20during%20presentations%20and%20the%20flawless%20audio%20throughout,%20everything%20ran%20incredibly%20well.%20We%20received%20numerous%20compliments%20from%20our%20attendees%20on%20the%20clarity%20of%20the%20sound%20and%20the%20quality%20of%20the%20visuals,%20which%20is%20a%20direct%20reflection%20of%20your%20team's%20dedication%20and%20skill.%20%20We%20especially%20appreciated%20%5bmention%20a%20specific%20positive%20aspect,%20e.g.,%20your%20flexibility%20in%20accommodating%20last-minute%20changes,%20your%20proactive%20troubleshooting,%20the%20expertise%20of%20a%20particular%20technician,%20etc.%5d.%20Your%20willingness%20to%20go%20the%20extra%20mile%20made%20a%20significant%20difference.%20%20Thank%20you%20again%20for%20your%20hard%20work%20and%20commitment.%20We%20were%20so%20impressed%20with%20your%20services%20and%20would%20not%20hesitate%20to%20recommend%20you%20for%20future%20events.%20We%20look%20forward%20to%20the%20possibility%20of%20working%20with%20you%20again.>. So sorry for the confusion! Crystal Powers is actually serving as our virtual moderator so Arianna would be free to monitor questions from the livestream chat. You are welcome to forward them to her or just add her to the email list to receive them (aelnes(a)nebraska.edu<mailto:aelnes@nebraska.edu>).
Let me know if this is preferrable so you can still make your appointments.

I have cancelled some things in my schedule, so I can plan to stay for the entirety of the event. I will be monitoring the email responses, so please let me know how you would like those questions asked. Usually, we read them into the microphone, as they come in, so whoever is planning to run mics on your team, I will write those down and have them ready on postcards, or I can read them directly myself.
Let me know what you prefer.

Jordan and Cara - Did you have a new graphic created for this lecture? Below is what we did two years ago. I assume Mike Boehm wants to play the tribute video during his opening comments?
Frances - What's the best way to get you and the AV team the Power Point for this lecture? Do you have a OneDrive folder?

Hi Bob,
Thank you so much for your willingness to present this award to Peter! Here is a sample script for tomorrow, immediately following the View from the Field panel, but feel free to ad lib. I will have the award ready for you under the podium:
2:00 - 3:15 p.m. View from the Field
Frances: Introductions
Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the View from the Field panel. In this session, we get to hear from those literally in the field – the farmers who are making it happen and those who work directly with them to support their work. I’m pleased to introduce our moderator for this important session, Jackie Ourada, with Nebraska Public Media.
(Jackie introduces the panelists)
· Jay Reiners, Nebraska producer, Secretary/treasurer of the U.S. Grain Council Board of Directors
· Karen Trujillo, farmer and agronomy engineer, El Salvador
· Samir Ibrahim, CEO, SunCulture, Kenya
· Tracy Zink, Nebraska farmer and Chairwoman of the NE Sorghum Producers BOD
· Dhone Dugnani, rural producer in western Bahia, Brazil
[Introductions and Q&A continue]
Bob Meaney: Closing + Award presentation
Thank you to our panelists and moderator for providing their important perspectives.
I’m Bob Meaney and a member of the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute International Advisory Panel. This evening, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. And for 8 of those years, our Executive Director Peter McCornick has helped guide the institute to achieving its goals. This is Peter's last conference as our executive director before he transitions to a new role with the university later this summer. Would you please join me in thanking Peter for his dedication to water and food security as he joins me on stage?
(applause and award presentation/photo)
Frances:
Thank you so much, Bob, for serving on the search committee when Peter came on board and both of you for your dedication to the institute.
Next up is another round of concurrent sessions. Check your app for full details but you can find:
· Building Drought Resilience is hosted here in the Auditorium
· Producing more with less will be in Breakout A
· Indigenous Communities and Water will be in Breakout B.
Following the concurrent sessions, our 15th Anniversary Reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Country Pines, an off-site event venue. You are welcome to take your own vehicle and parking is available. A map to the venue is available in the conference app or in your printed conference program.
We are also offering an optional complimentary shuttle to and from Country Pines starting immediately after the concurrent sessions. To catch the shuttle, please meet at the marked shuttle location to the southwest of the conference center. You’ll go out the south doors (near Breakout B), take a right and then follow the signs. A map to the shuttle is also available in the conference app, or visit the Registration Desk for more assistance. Multiple trips will be made to and from Country Pines beginning now and the event will conclude at 8:00 p.m.

Frances,
Should we ask Mogens to give the award?

Hi Bob,
It was so good to see you yesterday! I was wondering if you’ll still be in Lincoln on Thursday during our final closing session Noon-12:30 p.m. and if so, if you’d be willing to present Peter with an award since it will be his final conference as Executive Director. It would just be a couple minutes; I have an optional script for you, and we already have the award. Sorry for the late notice - we decided last minute that it would be nice to have a member of the IAP present the award!
Thanks!

Hi Megan,
Can anything be done about this issue? Any information will be much appreciated!
Nicole just texted this "Just FYI. CVent does not seem to work on the guest WiFi due to security requirements. Have to use cellular data. 2 people have mentioned to me. "
