I've got those email addresses removed from the website. I also looked up the website for Exhibition Hub and they seem to at least have been an entity for a while so the fact the
original emailer is using the company name @gmail.com leads me to believe this is a scammer attempting to spoof a company that hasn't had a presence post-covid.
Unfortunately, this appears to be a case of someone scraping the website and using targeted attempts towards listed members of the conference. The primary way to defend against
this would be to have the information hidden behind a login, however, we don't have those capabilities currently for non University affiliated individuals.
Even with a login though, we have the individuals and their photos posted so cross-referencing them with an email address for the company they work at wouldn't be an extraordinary
lift if an individual/group wanted to target them.

We received a similar forwarded email from another speaker and have verified with our conference platform that conference attendees’ information is not visible, and I can
assure you that 2460 people have not registered for the conference! I believe this is just a spam email to ignore but we’re doing our due diligence to keep that information internal.
