Subject: Final: Heuermann Lecture press release

Good afternoon,

I’m happy to share the final version of the press release for the April 29 Heuermann announcement (attached).

Jordan has also already updated the website here: https://heuermannlectures.unl.edu/

Our promotions plan from DWFI side includes:

IANR team, can you include in IANR News and share on your platforms as well?

As Cara mentioned, Mike Boehm will be unavailable to provide opening comments, but her team is reaching out to Tiffany Heng-Moss. Peter McCornick will close out the lecture. In the past, I believe IANR has provided speaker gifts for Heuermann Lecture participants. Is this something you’d like to do again?

We have connected Mike Kamm with our AV team for the conference (Claire at Sonburst) to coordinate livestreaming for the event.

I believe that’s it for now. Thanks so much for your patience on this! It has been a challenge to coordinate all the moving parts but am glad to see it come together.

Let me know if you have questions – thanks!

Subject: For review: Heuermann Lecture press release

Good afternoon!

I’m still waiting for any last-minute input from speakers on the attached press release for the upcoming Heuermann Lecture, but for the sake of time, I want to send along to the IANR team to review concurrently. Let me know if you have any suggested changes and I hope to hear from our speakers soon! (Side note: Mike Boehm has been confirmed to provide a brief introduction, and Peter McCornick will provide the closing. I have asked Craig to connect with Mike Kamm and out A/V team to coordinate livestreaming on the IANR website similarly to how it was done in 2023.

Subject: Heuermann Lecture participant details

Good afternoon,

Since all participants are now confirmed for the upcoming Heuermann Lecture, I’m sending a quick email to connect everyone and thank you all for your participation! I’m really looking forward to this event and think it will add a lot of value and discussion fodder for our conference attendees.

As a quick refresher, Jesse Bell, DWFI Director of Water, Climate and Health, will be moderating the discussion. Claudia Ringer of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) will provide a brief lecture and then all panelists (including Claudia, Abbie Raikes of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Brandon Hunnicutt, Nebraska Grower and Chairman of the Nebraska Corn Board) will engage in a moderated discussion with a mix of pre-determined questions and questions from the audience. The session is slated for Tuesday, April 29, 4:30-6 p.m. at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center in Lincoln, Neb. and followed by an evening reception in the same space. And we hope you are also able to join us for the rest of the conference sessions and events!

I’d like for us meet at some point prior to the event and will send out some options soon.

In the meantime, please review the attached press release and let me know if you have any changes by EOD tomorrow (March 19) if possible. I apologize for the quick request, so do let me know if you need more time to review.

All the best,
