Yes, I think we could make that work. But, let me stop by the campus this afternoon and see how long it takes to walk from the Commons bldg to the field, then over to the greenhouse. I just want to make sure we
have time to cover the distance and still have time to discuss the Flux towers.

Hi Molly,
Do you think there would be time for the Flux Towers, maybe strategically place between the Makerspace and the Greenhouse so there’s 30 minutes for the tower viewing + walking
time? They could even start talking about the project during the walk to save time. If you think this would work, could you please reach out to Ivo and see if someone from their team would be willing to give a
brief intro to the project?
Thanks!

Hi Frances,
No other ideas. The food processing center is interesting. Before I looked at Molly’s list I also thought about the flux towers. It would need someone from the research team
to explain. I am not sure what there is to see, but NUTech ventures would be another possibility. I am not sure NSRI would be especially productive for a 15 minute visit.
Regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
For our Thursday, May 1 NIC Tour, we have had a lot of interest and will be adding a third rotation to the tour so attendees will tour the following spaces for roughly an
hour each (the full tour is 3 hours):
The NIS tour will likely only be 30 minutes leaving 15 minutes for something extra.
Can you take a look at my proposed options below and let Molly know if there is one you prefer? Or if you have any additional ideas? They won’t have much times, but it’s a
great opportunity to highlight something else, too.
Thanks!

Good question! Let me think on this a bit more and see if Peter has any ideas. I have quite a few but am trying to think through which might be most appropriate!

Hi, Frances-
I'm thinking of ways we could take advantage of the extra 15 minutes we may have for the groups after touring the Maker's Space. Is there a speaker who would love to have a small captive audience
for a 15-minute flash talk? Or is there an art display on the 2nd floor? Or, would one of our staffers or students like to give a short presentation on a project?
You and the rest of the leadership team may have some better ideas!
Thanks,
Molly

We can do that. 45 minutes is a long tour for our facility. They generally average around 30 minutes.

Hi, Amy, Vincent and Jerry
Thanks again for your help in coordinating tours for participants of the
2025 Water for Food Global Conference, being held April 29-May 1 at NIC. The conference participants come from across the U.S. and several other countries and work in academia, government agencies, business, non-profits and farm production.
We've had more attendees register for the tours than we expected - about 55 people, which is a nice problem to have, but I know we need to keep the groups to 20 or fewer. I'm checking with the
Food Innovation Center to see if we could add them to the tour schedule, so that we could rotate three groups of 20 each hour (2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.) I was thinking we'd host at group at each site for 45 minutes, giving us 15 minutes to walk between locations.
Would this work for you? Thank you very much for your participation! I know our conference attendees will be very interested and excited to see your work.
Kind regards,
Molly
