Hi,

I’ve been meaning to send this e-mail for a while now, and with the tight financial situation that we are all facing it seems that now is a good time to send this. 

FST has always been very good at fundraising, but I think we can do better… Attached is a template letter that Sarah Gergen put together for possible donors.  This letter has been sent to various FST past donors and was written for specific events. 

I would like to strongly encourage all of you to reach out to your contacts and write a personal e-mail requesting donations.  I think that a personal e-mail will be a lot more efficient than a mass e-mail.  This is especially true for those faculty and staff that work with companies that already have a connection with FST/UNL.  Perhaps they are alumni, or they had projects with you, or their kids attend UNL…  It doesn’t hurt to ask and it will also keep communication and contacts alive…  you can use as much wording as you want from the attached letter.
