Mmmm... good question!!! I think that the license works so that 100 people can sign in at once.  So, for example, if the student will not use Biorender anymore, then we delete their name and we free up one spot.

That being said, we should find out... Susie, would you mind asking Brian about this?

Thanks!

Silvana,

Is this something interested students could use for their symposium presentations? Does the license work such that if a student used it once for their symposium poster their name/login is tied to the license counting as one of the hundred users (and therefore NOT a good idea for a one-time thing)? Or is it more that no more than 100 people can use it at once, but that 100 can fluctuate?

There are ~34 students registered in the 952 Professional Development class this semester.

Cheers,

Heather

Hi all,

I just wanted to remind everybody that FST paid for the license of BioRender for 100 seats.  We currently have a little bit over 30 people.  Everybody in the department can use this tool (faculty, students, post-docs, staff).  If you are not familiar with BioRender, it is a platform to create professional science figures and diagrams.  It can be used for presentations, graphical abstracts, and even posters!  If you are like me, with little to no imagination and arts skills, this is a great tool!

If you are interested in having access to BioRender through FST, please send an e-mail to Susie and she will add you to the platform.

Thanks,

Silvana
