Volunteers Needed to Engage with Speculative Robotics Lab
Every Friday from February 28 to March 28
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Sessions Every Half Hour
Innovation Advancement Suites, Office #8, Suite 1250
Care takes many forms, and its future is full of possibilities. The speculative robotics lab is dedicated to imagining and prototyping new ways care might unfold—particularly in hospital settings—through speculative design and futuring.
NIC Partners and the Lincoln community are invited to playtest and co-create future care scenarios where robotics and design intersect with human experience. Participants will engage through ideation, drawing, writing and methods from theater, movement and
live-action role-play, transforming physical space into narrative stages for imagination.
Each session is 30 minutes. Anyone is welcome to stop by, engage with the speculative and contribute to shaping the future of care.

Nebraska Innovation Studio's upcoming
Robotics Speaker Series talk will feature a conversation with Nate Benes exploring the intersection of robotics, automation and the built environment.
As Director of Operational Tech and Engineering at the University of Nebraska, Nate
represents the United States in defining the ways buildings are built around the world, and leads teams that design and develop the systems that run the very buildings we work in - built from scratch and engineered right here. He’ll share how modern buildings
operate like robotic systems, why workplace environments play a critical role in human well-being, and how automation can drive sustainability and resilience.
Whether you’re in robotics, architecture, or just curious about the future of smart buildings, this discussion will challenge how you think about the spaces where we live and work. Food and drink provided.
