Groundbreaking Ceremony for the ARS National Center for Resilient and Regenerative

NIC Partners are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the ARS National Center for Resilient and Regenerative Precision Agriculture which will be constructed east of the Greenhouse Innovation Center. This event will celebrate past, present, and
future high-impact, cooperative research between ARS, the chief in-house research agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the University of Nebraska, and mark our first steps in constructing this new scientific facility.
When completed, the NCRRPA will house scientists and staff in the ARS Agroecosystem Management Research Unit and ARS Wheat, Sorghum and Forage Research Unit. Research in these units focuses on developing sustainable integrated cropping systems and livestock
management technologies and improving the productivity and sustainability of wheat, sorghum, and forage crops. When finished, the NCRRPA will enable ARS and the University of Nebraska to expand their longstanding research partnerships on key issues associated
with precision agriculture, water management, and climate resilience to improve the efficiency and sustainability of U.S. agriculture.

Nebraska Innovation Campus is a proud partner of the annual
Towel Drive event. Organized by Don’t Panic Labs and People’s City Mission, the event aims to collect towels for people in need. Towels are always in short supply and this two-week donation drive serves a vital need for
our local community.
From May 13 to May 26, NIC Partners and the Lincoln community are encouraged to bring towels to The Mill Coffee & Bistro between 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. New or used towels in any condition and of any size will be accepted. The towels will be used at the People’s
City Mission shelter in Lincoln.

Umbrella Checkout System
NIC Partners and campus visitors may checkout an umbrella for the tables in the NIC Plaza by providing a valid driver’s license to the staff at The Mill Coffee & Bistro. Your driver’s license will be held at the counter during use. When you are finished using
the umbrella, please return it to The Mill Coffee & Bistro and your driver’s license will be returned to you.

Parking at NIC
NIC visitors that do not have a NIC parking permit or a UNL parking permit are required to pay for parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive using the Passport Parking app. This is the same parking app used when people park on the street at NIC,
in downtown Lincoln and in the Haymarket.
Parking Zones:
The paved lot north of Transformation Drive is Zone 9900 on the Passport Parking app. On-street parking at NIC is Zone 80. Parking in downtown Lincoln and the Haymarket is Zone 75.
Enforcement:
Paid parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive is enforced from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On-street metered parking is enforced from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
If you have a NIC parking permit or a UNL parking permit:

If you have a Nebraska Innovation Campus parking permit do not use the Passport Parking app to pay for parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive. Nebraska Innovation
Campus parking permits are valid in parking lots with first come first served parking, reserved spaces (numbered yellow hang tags only) and the paved lot north of Transformation Drive.

If you have a University of Nebraska–Lincoln parking permit please notify Parking and Transit Services and request that your permit be added to the reciprocal visitors list.
Send the requests from your official UNL email account to
unlpts@unl.edu. Your license will then be added to the NIC permit roster. Access remains for the effective period of your UNL permit. After your UNL permit has been added to the NIC permit roster, do not use the Passport
Parking app to pay for parking in the lot north of Transformation Drive. University of Nebraska–Lincoln parking permits are valid only in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive.
