The Dairy Store served up ice cream at the at the Phelps County Fair in Holdrege, NE on July 21-25th. The
event was a great success with several attendees enjoying Dairy Store ice cream.

Clinical Research Coordinator for the Food Allergy Research and Resource Program will be retiring after 37 years of service. A celebration of her service will be held at The Mill on Innovation Campus, August 14th from 4 PM - 6 PM. Refreshments will
be provided.

The Department will be holding a Fall Welcome Ice Cream Social & Resource Fair on August 28th from 4:30 PM -5:30 PM
located in the Food Innovation Center (FIC) 2nd Floor Student Lounge. The event will feature clubs, programs, and resources available from the Department. There will be a welcome for graduate students at 5 PM. Free Dairy Store ice cream will be provided.

Analytical Laboratory Technician

The Food Allergy Research and Resource Program (FARRP) works to develop and provide the food industry with credible information, expert opinions, tools, and services
relating to allergenic foods, novel foods, and food ingredients including genetically modified products. FARRP takes a comprehensive approach, working and collaborating with research institutions, governmental authorities, consumer groups, and scientific societies
around the globe to improve the safety of food products for consumers.
As an Analytical Laboratory Technician, you will:
-
Use aseptic handling processes to clean, handle and store a large volume of sample preparation and reagent preparation vessels on a daily basis.
-
Independently assess and address appropriate sample preparation and prepare samples for testing. Also, prepare large quantities of reagents.
-
Identify potential areas of contamination.
-
Receive samples into the laboratory and review documentation of samples already received.
-
Store and dispose of samples.
-
Complete documentation in strict adherence to SOP’s and ISO:17025 requirements.

As the Administrative Coordinator, you will:

Provide advanced and complex administrative and support for the department head.
-
Coordinate complex scheduling/meetings involving multiple calendars.
-
Attend meetings and record minutes of faculty meetings and similar activities led by the department head.
-
Prepare reports, letters, and other documents.
-
Oversee the submission of annual faculty evaluations and promotion and tenure files to the department head and chair of the promotion and tenure committee, and prepare documentation
of these for submission to the next level of administration.
-
Coordinate interview schedules and travel arrangements for academic and staff position search candidates.
-
Compile information and respond to reporting requests from all levels of the university.
-
Supervise office support staff including the coordination of staff support during transitions or absences of staff and facilitating training of new staff and other personnel
as needed.
