Subject: [Indigenous Youth Food Sovereignty Program]March 2nd Class Meets at the Greenhouse!

Hello everyone!

My heart has been singing these past couple of days as I feel the warmth from the sun and get excited to start seeds!  By growing our own food, we are building connections between ourselves and each plant we tend. This week we will be in the greenhouse - mixing up our own potting mix and starting seeds.

Where we will meet:

This week we will be meeting in the Greenhouse and having lunch/ending class in the garden 🌿🌻 (see location in map attached or click here)!!!

Helpful Notes:

  • When choosing clothes to wear to class this week:
    • We will be working with the potting soil - wear clothes you feel comfortable getting some dirt on 🙂
    • Dressing in layers may help you stay comfortable!
      • The greenhouse will be warm again, but when we walk to the garden you may want a light jacket (high for the day is 73 degrees).

Before Class: There is no reading assignment this year, but by all means, keep reading the book!  We will continue to weave in chapters when we can.

What we will be doing:

See you on Saturday!
