Hi group,
I like the ’00 Items for Iverson to Review’ folder on our SharePoint drive – it is making things much easier for me.
As I mentioned, after I have made edits/comments I’m moving things into a ‘done’ folder. Please remove items from this folder once you get them from me. This will make it easy for people to find their most recently edited documents.
There are about 10 files in the folder right now, please look at it and see if any of the items are yours, if they are yours, please save them to your own computer/folder and remove them from the ‘done’ folder.
Thanks,
Iverson

Hi Friends,
These are the journals for me to present. Today’s one and the one I could not present before.
Let’s see if I could make it for the meeting today.
Thank you so much,

Hello team,
I want to give everyone a heads up on plans for the next month as they will impact some of you.
I will miss the lab group meetings on 3/18, 4/8 and 4/15 because of conferences/symposia that I need to attend. You will still have the meetings without me.
There is a BME seminar on Friday, 3/22 at 12 – 1 pm in Kiewit Hall. All grad students/post docs/professors are expected to attend in person unless there is a good reason to miss it.
There is a BSE BME meeting on Thursday, 3/28 from 8:30 – 10 am. All grad students/post docs/professors are expected to attend in person unless there is a good reason to miss it.
I need to reschedule our Friday meetings for 3/29 so that I can be at a meeting on City Campus during the afternoon. We can work out timing for our meetings next week.
I will be out of town from Friday, 4/5 – Monday, 4/15. I will have very limited email access during this time. We will not be having meetings on Friday 4/5 or 4/12. If you typically meet with me on Fridays you will instead send me an update email with what you have accomplished during the week.
If you have any questions please let me know,
Iverson

Hi everyone,
Revvity (formally Cisbio and PerkinElmer) will be hosting a “Lunch and Learn” session on Tuesday, April 2nd from 12:00 – 1:00 PM in Hamilton Hall 652. This session will include free lunch and will provide useful information that may directly benefit your research.
Revvity specializes in assays, techniques, and instruments to monitor proteins and enzyme interactions. My lab uses their assays fairly extensively for GPCR-based signaling experiments, and they have many other platforms which allow monitoring of many other important cellular targets.
If you are interested, please see the attached flyer and register via the link (in the flyer)!

Hi group,
At our previous meeting we discussed writing letters of recommendation for yourself. I want to make sure that everyone knows that you should not be using AI (such as Chat GPT or whatever else is out there) to write your letters. You could possibly use AI to help you grammar check (if that is possible – I’ve never used it), but do not use it to write the letter. Letters from AI, or taken directly from templates online, will make the letter look generic and similar to other letters that the committees will receive.
Please let me know if you want to work on learning how to write letters.

Does it say a date on our pipetes for when they were last calibrated? Should I arrange to have them calibrated again?

Okay team, can everyone that uses the lasers/SWNT share their opinions. Here are the questions:
1. What are the two lasers that we currently have on the Photon microscope?
2. Would a 555 nm laser work?
3. Do we want 730 or 785 nm laser? Or would either work?

Hi Nicole,
Thank you for the quick response.
Upon reviewing my notes, it seems that obtaining a 561 nm laser might be challenging, but a 555 nm laser is more readily available, would you accept this laser? Additionally, unless I made an error, did you request the 730 nm laser instead of the 785 nm? Could you kindly confirm or correct me if I am mistaken?
Warm regards,
Wendy Chung

Hi Friends,
Following the instructions you could get your ECS student membership through the UNL chapter. Omer, I am not sure if this will work for you as well, give it a try :)

You should consider joining the ECS group on campus. ECS is one of the best carbon nanotube groups at the national level, so having this on your resume and interacting with others here at UNL would be beneficial.
