Hi team, We have been given permission to use room 256 for our new confocal microscope. Since Portia is going to be in charge of the microscope to start, I would like to ask her to organize a time for everyone to work on clearing out the room and getting everything set up. That time might not be for a few weeks, I will leave it up to her to decide. But I would appreciate if everyone helps when she gets this set up. FW: Lab 257 - Floor Stains

What are these marks? Is it from acids/piranha solution? If you spill liquid on the floor, you need to clean it up immediately! I do not want our lab to be responsible for replacing the floor – it will be incredibly expensive, cutting into the number of students/post docs we can support. Please check your area during/after every experiment. How can we make sure that this does not continue to happen? Since these floors are rubber spills soak into the floor instead of sitting on top if not cleaned up right away. They only way to remove these stains is a process of restoring the floor that is very labor intensive and costly. Could you please let your lab occupants know to be more careful and to clean up spills at the time they happen. Do we have any images that would be good for this? They need to be from the nanotechnology facility on City Campus, so our normal cell/SWNT images from our lab wouldn’t work.
