Hi Everyone!  

I just wanted to say (though you may have already heard) that tomorrow (2/12) is the official kick off for this year’s Glow Big Red Fundraising Day here at UNL. You already know this if you’re part of the university or you’ve been tracking the MRST Facebook page. We’ll be doing some more informative advertising tomorrow, but for now, I just wanted to send out a more detailed message explaining our fundraising goals. This year, we have a matching fund opportunity if we get 15 donors, and donations can be any amount. So, any little bit helps.

In the past year, we’ve sponsored five academic talks, two fun events aimed primarily at undergraduates, facilitated student research, and enabled a student to do special programming at the Newberry Library. We’ve sent students on with their PhDs and welcomed a new MA student too.  We’re planning a few more talks for spring, including this year’s Mary Martin McLaughlin Lecture.
