May 2024 NeSIS Award Winner

The NeSIS Employee Shining Impactful Superstar award winner for May 2024 is Jean Padrnos.

 

Jean is the Student Records/Academic Advising Functional Coordinator and is also the team lead for the Functional Coordinators team. Jean is always outstanding at her job, but has really stepped up lately with the Stellic implementation, plus taking on responsibilities in additional areas due to short staffing. 

 

We thank Jean for her leadership, hard work and dedication to excellence!

Enterprise Tools / Dashboard Update

As a reminder, the monthly Dashboard meeting has been merged with the Enterprise Tools meeting and has been rescheduled for the 2nd Thursday of the month from 9-10am. New meeting invites have been sent out. If you did not get one, please reach out to the NeSIS Enterprise Tools Team at nesisetteam@nebraska.edu. The NeSIS Enterprise Tools Team should also be contacted for any new campus EF/WKF and Dashboard project requests, Phire project migrations, Production SQL Message copies and EF/WKF and Dashboard Assistance or questions. This ensures that your request or question will be addressed in a timely fashion.

Ready, Set - Test!

 

The PeopleTools 8.60 upgrade has been applied to TSTNU/SC is now ready for testing. The PeopleTools 8.60 Upgrade Info page in SharePoint is your one-stop-shop for all things PeopleTools upgrade testing related. Some items to note:

 

• Watch the PeopleTools 8.60 Testing kickoff webinar for an overview of the changes you'll see in PT8.60 and some specific things to test.
• If you find an issue, report it using the NeSIS Issues Log and make sure you choose PeopleTools in the Maintenance field.
• Known issues and changes will be listed on the PeopleTools 8.60 Upgrade Info page in SharePoint and discussed in the weekly Change Control agenda.
• Functional-area specific testing sessions have been scheduled for each area for both TST and QA. This is a great chance to dedicate time to testing, so please take advantage of this opportunity if you can.
• The automated Move Query process cannot be used to move queries between instances that are on different PeopleTools versions. For example, after TSTNU/SC is upgraded to PT8.60, you cannot use the automated Query Move process to move a query from TSTNU to QANU. If you need to have a query moved, email nesis.query@nebraska.edu.
• Signoff to approve the application of maintenance to PRDNU/SC is due on Tuesday, July 9 at NOON. Your campus should have a process for collecting signoffs. If you are unsure of your campus procedure, contact your Integration Team member.
• If signoff is received, the PRD system will be unavailable on Friday, July 12 beginning at 8pm CST until approximately 3pm on Saturday, July 13.
• PRD will be open for designated campus personnel for validation on Saturday, July 13 at approximately 10am. Please submit any IDs that you want to have available for validation (including any users you plan on checking out) ahead of time.

 

The key to a successful upgrade to ensure that the impact on the PRD system is minimized is testing and we thank you ahead of time for your testing efforts.

Anil Kumar Eaga

We have a new face at NeSIS! Anil Kumar Eaga joined the TAST team as a PeopleSoft Programmer Analyst on 4/29 and has been quickly learning the ropes. Anil graduated with a Master's Degree from the University of New York at Buffalo and has worked prior as a Senior Associate Software Engineer at Mitel.

Suzan Manthey retired from NeSIS on 5/17 and had a few parting words: “I want to thank the NeSIS community for adding to the joy of my retirement with all your well wishes.   I will miss working with you all and will look back on this time fondly.”
