Her research focuses on colonization resistance mechanisms to Clostridioides difficile. C. difficile is the number one cause of hospital associated infections in the U.S. due to its ability to colonize and persist in the colons of patients on antibiotics. During her research, she evaluated potential probiotics on their ability to reduce and compete with C. difficile for nutrient space. FIC 105 Walk-in Cooler Clean Out

Hi All, I have started cleaning out the Walk-In Refrigerator in FIC 105. There is a lot of mold. Items will be placed on wire carts in the Walk-In so the shelving and floor can be cleaned. All moldy boxes/containers need to be discarded. If you have items in the Walk-In please stop by to discard any items no longer needed (moldy, expired...) and wipe down, LABEL any items that you need to keep. His research focuses on developing safe recipes for home canning applications with aronia berries as the primary ingredient. Thermal lethality studies are fundamental to ensure the secure processing of foods at home. He was additionally ensuring the retention of the nutritional value of the aronia so households could enjoy a safe and healthy product. Juan received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of La Sabana, Colombia, in 2020. The process was both innovative and enjoyable, exploring the potential of these materials and methods. Javier Rivera is an artist based in Lincoln specializing in figurative painting and drawing.
