Dr. Ed Dudley from Penn State will be talking about "Wastewater surveillance for foodborne pathogens, either a pipe dream or emerging application". Dr. Dudley is a world-renowned molecular food microbiologist and professor and director of the E. coli Reference Center, the largest repository for E. coli strains in the US. He works closely with foodborne disease epidemiologists and has been very active in the waterborne surveillance space, which is becoming an increasingly popular field.
