Dear colleagues,
Our priority application deadline for Fall 2026 PhD admissions was yesterday, 12/15. Some applications are still being processed by Grad Studies, but I’ve assigned those that are available to potential faculty advisors (i.e., those individuals who prospective students have expressed interest in working with). As we started doing last year, I’d like to invite your input on this process. If you’d like to participate, please review apps assigned to you by Friday, January 16.
Guidelines for review and a link to the online application portal are here: [?Folder icon] 2025-12 Grad Application Review<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://uofnebraska.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/UNL-Po… >
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Ingrid

Hi all,
Just wanted to send a general heads up that our priority admission deadline for PhD and MA/PHD applications is December 15. After this date, I’ll work on assigning applications for review- both to the graduate committee, and to potential faculty supervisors as we did last year.
You’ll have the opportunity to evaluate PhD applicants who expressed interest in working with you, which was really helpful for the committee in our review process last year. I’ll send more information on how to access applications, the review process, and suggested deadlines, as the deadline nears. I’ll probably try to have these assigned before break, but there should be time in January to review as well before the committee meets if you’d rather wait until then. It sometimes takes grad studies some time to make applications available, so some may not be available until January anyway.
If you know now that you are not interested in advising additional PhD students, either because you’ll be on leave, you already have too many students, etc., that is also helpful for me to know, so feel free to email me that information as well.
Best,
Ingrid
