This is just an FYI that the students listed below are due to select MA thesis advisors and/or put together their PhD committees. Don’t be surprised if they come talk to you about this.
MA thesis committees (option A) require a chair and 2 readers from POLS.
PHD committees require a chair and 2 readers from POLS, plus 1 outside member from a different department.
For clarification:
Any tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the department can serve as a chair or reader on MA or PHD committees (this includes Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors).
Professors of Practice with grad status (White, Houston) can serve on committees and chair MA, but not chair PHD.
